Virgin Trains takes West Coast Main Line court action
Virgin Trains has started court proceedings over the government’s decision to award a new franchise to rival transport company FirstGroup.
The move came hours before the Government was due to sign off a controversial deal giving responsibility for the route to FirstGroup.
Virgin said it had tried for three weeks to get “clarity” about the decision by the Department of Transport but had been “refused information”.
